Sonia Delaunay

Hola a todos,
no sé por qué me he acordado hoy de Sonia Delaunay, quizá porque estoy trabajando en mi cuadro de 340 círculos hechos a mano y a veces me entra la duda de si no será un poco absurdo seguir con él. Sin embargo, miro los cuadros de S. Delaunay que podrían parecer simples y facilones y, sin embargo, están llenos de color y de personalidad porque son exactamente lo que a ella le apetecía hacer, no lo que creía que iba a gustar, y por eso están llenos de valor. Y esto me da ánimos para seguir con mi cuadro porque es exactamente lo que quiero hacer, podría pintar miles de cosas distintas pero quiero pintar círculos.

I don't know why today I've remembered Sonia Delaunay, maybe because I'm working on my 340 handmade circles painting and sometimes I wonder if it's a bit stupid painting. However, I look at S. Delaunay paintings that seem to be simple and so easy at a first sight and, however, they are full of colour and personality because they are exactly what Sonia wanted to paint, not what she was expected to do, and that's why they are so valuable. This encourages me to continue with my painting because it's exactly what I want to do, I could paint thousands of different things but I want to paint circles.

Hola a todos,
volvemos a la carga después de un parón de varios días centrada en terminar uno de mis cuadros ya empezados. Me está llevando más tiempo del que yo pensaba, dibujar 340 círculos a mano, sin ayuda de compás ni plantilla, y luego pintarlos manteniendo la forma original es más complejo de lo que parece. Ya os enseñaré el resultado aunque me llevará todavía dos o tres semanas más terminarlo.
Bueno, aunque es martes en Madrid empezamos hoy la semana pues ayer fue el día del Padre y fue día festivo. Aquí os dejo el blog de la semana, para que lo podáis disfrutar durante estos días: se llama Swiss-Miss y lo sigo desde hace ya un año. Está lleno de contenido interesante, mezcla de diseño, curiosidades, entrevistas a artistas, etc. Os lo recomiendo.

Hello everyone,
I'm back after a break of several days dedicated to finish one of my uncompleted paintings. It's taking me longer than I though, drawing 340 circles by hand without the aid of compass or template, and paint them keeping their original form is more complex than it seems. I'll show you the result but it will still take me two or three weeks to finish the painting. 
Although it's Tuesday, my week starts today because yesterday was Fathers day at Spain and was holiday in Madrid. So here's the blog of the week: it's called Swiss-Miss and I follow it since last year. It's full of interesting content, mix of design, curiosities, interviews to artist, photos, etc. I recomend it.

Me encantan estos posters de cuentos para niños. Me gusta su aparente simplicidad y su mensaje claro y conciso. Viendo el dibujo puedes, sin leer el título, imaginar de qué cuento hablan.
Son de un estudio de arte y diseño llamado Square Inch Design.

Me gusta la gente que lucha por cumplir sus sueños.

Mimi ballerina

Hola a todos,
¡Por fin tengo las fotos de mi último trabajo! Aquí está el trabajo especial del que os hablaba el otro día: es una colaboración con mi madre, que es un auténtico genio con la aguja y el hilo. Juntas hemos hecho un traje de bailarina a la pequeña Mimi, yo con el pincel y ella con la aguja fabricando el tutú, y no ha quedado del todo mal, ¿no? Espero que este trabajo conjunto no sea el último porque ha sido genial trabajar con mi madre. Gracias, mamá.

¡At last I have my last work photos! Here it is the special work I spoke about few days ago: a partnership with my mather, who is really good with needle and thread. Toghether we have made a ballerina outfit for little Mimi: I've done my part with the brush and my mother with the needle making the tutu. It's not so bad, is it? I hope this collaboration will continue and we will do more projects together because it was great to work with my mother! Thank you, mum.

Estrenamos semana y yo estreno deseo, voy a terminar todos mis cuadros a medias. Es mucho pedir porque son unos cuantos, mi tendencia a dejar todo sin terminar no acaba de desaparecer por más disciplina que me imponga, pero esta vez lo voy a conseguir. Voy a terminar lo que he empezado, y tengo cuadros desde el 2004, así que va a ser un trabajo duro! Ya los iré colgando en el blog para enseñároslos. De momento os dejo el blog que he elegido para esta semana: se llama Bloesem, un blog donde recopilan ideas de diseño, decoración de interiores, cosas hechas a mano... Espero que lo disfrutéis.

We begin a new week and I release new wish, I'm going to finish all my uncompleted paintings. Perhaps is too much because they are too many paintings, my tendency to leave everything unfinished doesn't disappear despite my discipline, but this time I'll get it. I'm going to finish what I've started, and I have paintings from 2004, so it's going to be a hard work. I'll post them here to show you. Pintolines new fellow: Capitan Gabichi!

Después de más de tres semanas de duro trabajo os quiero presentar al nuevo amigo de Pintolines: el capitán Gabichi. 

Se lo he hecho a mi hijo pequeño y le encanta. Cada vez que lo ve lo señala y, sonriendo, me dice "Pirata, mamá, pirata." Y yo le pregunto "¿Cómo se llama?" "Capiaaan tete", me contesta. Dentro de poco espero poder hacer un cuento con las aventuras de este nuevo personaje pero, mientras tanto, me iré inventando alguna historia para cada vez que lo señale y me pregunte "¿Y este quien es? Pirata, mamá." 

Esta nueva silueta está hecha de acrílico sobre madera y tiene una altura de unos 50 cm de alto. Los botones son de verdad y están pegados sobre la madera. Está preparado para colgarlo en la pared con un sencillo cuelga-fácil. Estoy contenta con este trabajo, espero que os guste.

Hi everyone,

After more than three weeks of hard work I want to introduce Pintolines' new friend: "Capitan Gabichi". 

I've made it for my little baby and he loves it. Each time he sees it, he points it and, with a big smile, says "Pirate, mum, pirate." Soon I hope to write a short story about the adventures of this new character but, meanwhile, I'll invent new stories for each time he sees it.

This new silhouette is made of acrylic on wood and has a height of about 50 cm. The buttons are real and are glued on the wood. It's ready to hang on the wall with a simple wall-hanging. I'm really happy with this work, hope you will like it.
