Me encanta todo lo que es de Lego y he encontrado a través de uno de mis blogs favoritos, Handmade Charlotte, unas creaciones hechas con Lego por Bruce Lowell que son increíbles. A mi hijo Cayetano le van a encantar. Nunca había pensado utilizar el Lego para reproducir cosas reales!

el blog de esta semana es uno muy útil que encontré el otro día por casualidad: el blog de Ikea. En él proponen ideas de decoración muy chulas basadas en los productos de Ikea. Me gusta porque son ideas a precios asequibles y con muebles que, en muchos casos, ya tienes.

Folklore shop

Parece que todo va mejor y ya me puedo ir moviendo más. El lunes vuelvo al trabajo y espero que poco a poco todo vuelva a la normalidad, aunque voy a echar mucho de menos todo el tiempo que he podido dedicar al blog y a encontrar por internet webs de diseño, decoración y arte muy interesante, a mejorar mi tablón de Pinterest y a empezar las ilustraciones de un cuento para niños que tengo en la cabeza. En fin, ya de vuelta a la rutina no sé cuándo voy a sacar tiempo para todo esto pero ya se me ocurrirá algo.
Una de las webs que he encontrado estos días ha sido Folklore, una tienda de muebles que me ha encantado y que algún día que vaya a Londres me gustaría visitar (lo apunto en mi lista de "Cosas que visitar en Londres").
Me gusta mucho su filosofía, una tienda independiente y también online creada por Danielle Reid y su marido Rob. Buscan un diseño consciente para el hogar y la vida, con piezas creadas con cuidado y mimo y pensadas para que duren mucho. Algunas están hechas de material reciclado y otras son fácilmente reciclables. Además, cada año donan el 15% de sus beneficios a diferentes organizaciones sin ánimo de lucro. Este año trabajan con Shanti Microfinance, creada por su amigo Sheetal Mehta para fomentar el espíritu empresarial y la sostenibilidad en algunos de los barrios y pueblos más pobres de la India.

It seems that everything is going better and now I can move around more. On Monday I'll return to work and I hope that gradually things will go back to normal, although I'll miss very much all the time I've dedicated to the blog and to find on internet good and interesting design, deco and art websites, to improve my Pinterest board and begin the illustrations of a children's story I have in my mind. Back to the routine I don't know how I'll find time for making all of this.
One of the websites I've found these days is Folklore, a furniture store that I really love and I hope I'll visit one day (I write it down on my list of "Things to Visit in London").
I really like their philosophy:

Julia Child's recipes.

Desde que vi la peli de "July & Julia" (gracias por la recomendación, Belén, me encantó) me apetece hacer una de las recetas de Julia Child. No sé si este fin de semana podré levantarme por fin y ponerme a cocinar, lo dudo mucho, y no sé si Jaime tendrá tiempo y ganas suficientes, pero por si acaso, aquí dejo la receta que parece más fácil, la de las tostas de pimientos que devoran Julia Powel y su marido en la película. Tienen una pintan buenísima y parecen fáciles de hacer.

Since I saw "July & Julia" movie (thanks for telling me, Belén, I really enjoyed it) I like to do one of the Julia Child's recipes. I do not know if I can get up and cook this weekend and I don't know if Jaime will have enough time to cook them, but just in case here I left the recipe that seems to be easier, the pepper toasts that Julia Powell and her husband eat in the movie. They look delicious and so easy to do.

Enjoy them!!

Ingredientes:

4 rebanadas de baguette

1 diente de ajo.

2 tomates medianos o 10 tomates cherry

1 pimiento rojo cortado en dados

1 pimiento amarillo o naranjo cortado en dados

Un puñado de albahaca fresca (10 hojas)

Sal

Pimienta

Aceite de Oliva

Preparación:

Picar muy bien la albahaca. Cortar en dados los tomates y pimientos. Unir estos con la albahaca picada. Salpimentar

Freir las rebanadas de pan en aceite de oliva caliente con ajo por ambos lados

Retirar el pan y todo resto de migas y sofreir unos segundos la preparación de tomates, ajo, albahaca y pimientos.

Servir caliente

Warm and fashionable accesories for kids

Sé que estamos en verano y que lo que menos apetece es pensar en ropa de abrigo pero no he podido evitarlo al descubrir una web llamada Cabbages & Kings. Esta web está fundada por Alexandra Gizela ya que cuando, en 2010 dio a luz a su primera hija, no encontró ninguna ropa de bebé calentita, duradera y a la moda que la convenciera por lo que se lanzó a hacerlo ella misma creando Cabbages & Kings donde crea prendas de lana confeccionadas después por artesanos peruanos de Sumaq Ruracc, un grupo de habla quechua de los Andes. Este grupo trabaja en colaboración con una red de comunidades, iglesias y ONGs llamada Bridge of Hope cuyo objetivo es fortalecer las capacidades de las comunidades locales participantes. La verdad es que cuando lo leí me gustó mucho la idea y me recordó un poco a cómo empecé con Pintolines, pues no encontraba pinturas para los niños que me gustaran y decidí crearlas yo misma. Me falta la parte de colaboración pero todo se andará...

I know we are in summer and here in Spain it's too hard to think about warm clothes but I couldn't help it when I discoverd Cabbages & Kings website. This web was founded by Alexandra Gizela because when she gave birth to her first child she couldn't find warm, durable, yet fashionable clothing so she decided to create herself. And so Cabbages & Kings was born.They are a strong supporter of fair trade and strives to build bridges between artisans of excellence and socially responsible consumers.

All of their accessories are hand made by the Sumaq Ruracc, a Quechua-speaking group that live in an Andean Valley in Peru that work in collaboration with a network made up of 14 community groups, churches and non-governmental organizations called Bridge of Hope that work to strengthen the capacities of local, participating institutions and base communities.

I really like the idea because is useful and because it was created in a similar way as Pintolines, I couldn't find original and unique paintings for my kids so I decided to created myself. I'm working on the collaborative part, it will come someday...

Sabéis que me encantan las revistas online y esta vez he descubierto una que me tiene entusiasmada. Se llama La Petite for the little ones y, como su propio nombre indica, sus increíbles reportajes giran en torno a los niños, su moda, sus habitaciones, sus libros. Os recomiendo que la echéis un vistazo porque tiene cosas que realmente inspiran y para comprobarlo os dejo unas fotos.

My blog of the week

Hola a todos,
Qué tal habéis llevado el fin de semana? Yo bien, algo más tranquila y aburrida de lo habitual pues estoy embarazada de mi cuarto hijo y el médico me ha mandado reposo. Estoy muy contenta porque vamos a ampliar la familia pero el reposo no lo llevo muy bien, con otros tres peques en casa el trabajo que dejo a mi marido y a mis padres es tremendo y me siento fatal, pero sé que es por el bien de otro pequeñín que, aunque no pueda tocarlo, ahí está dando volteretas. Gracias papá, mamá por vuestra infinita paciencia, no sé qué haría sin vosotros. Gracias Jaime por... todo.
En fin, que me pongo sentimental y me distraigo. Hoy es lunes y toca el blog de la semana. Esta vez he elegido un blog de diseño en viajes o viajes en busca de diseño, no sé muy bien cómo definirlo, que me encanta. Quizá lo he elegido porque llevo una semana metida en mi habitación y necesitaba, aunque fuera por internet, viajar un poco a tierras lejanas. El blog se llama Petite Passport y en él su autora, Pauline Egge, tiene la intención de reunir los mejores lugares del mundo en cuanto a diseño se refiere. Ahí es nada!

How about your weekend? Mine was a bit calm and bored than usual because I'm pregnant of my fourth baby and I'm resting in bed since last monday. I'm happy for we're going to increase the family but the rest it's not being easy for me. It's too much work I leave to my parents and husbands with three kids at home and taking care of me too. Thanks mum and dad for your infinite patience, I don't know what I would do without you. Thank you Jaime for... everything.
Anyway, it's Monday and it's time for the blog of the week. This time I've chosen a blog quite difficult to define. It's a blog of travels that look for design or a blog of design that look for it on the travels Pauline Egge, the author, makes. The blog's called Petite Passport and there, Pauline, wants "to collect all the nicest (design) places on earth. To get you, and myself, motivated to travel the word!".

Para este fin de semana puede ser divertido hacer con los niños una tienda de campaña. A mis hijos les encanta hacerlas pero sacan todas las toallas de la piscina y miles de pinzas para unirlas y resulta un poco engorroso porque se sueltan las pinzas, se caen las toallas... Pero he descubierto en el blog Modern Parents Messy Kids una forma muy ingeniosa de hacer una estructura para una tienda y con material reciclable, el papel de periódico. Espero que os divierta.

For this weekend it can be fun to make a fort at home. My kids really love building forts but they use towels and clothespins and it's a bit confusing because when they move all the towels fall down and it becomes a mess. But I've discoverd at Modern Parents Messy Kids a good way to make a fort with newspaper. I hope you enjoy it.
